Free For All Friday No. 267

I'm amazed that this will be my last FFAF of 2013 and I've thoroughly enjoyed contributing to the site over the year. Thank you for all your kind comments on my posts, and for your great ideas which continue to inspire me.

So, did Santa bring you all the binders and other related items that you asked for?
I joked with my husband that I sincerely hoped that no one would be giving me a Filofax as I'm very content with what I currently have. I've returned to using two binders (actually not that long after writing this post!) as I missed the extra space for helping me sort out paperwork and projects.

I hope you had a great Christmas and here's to a fantastic 2014 for us all and Philofaxy.

  1. Filofax and dodo pad are both UK based companies, yet I refuse to pay for Filofax at full price yet have no problem with paying full price for Lord Dodo's products I wonder why?

    1. It is interesting. I am much more willing to pay full price for a filofax purchased from the local pen shop than I am willing to pay for one purchased online; I highly value the ability to see and touch the binder in the flesh before purchasing. Not long after the Original came out I saw one at the shop which convinced me that I did not want one; saving me quite a lot of money.

  2. Dodo Pad is such a fun, lovely company, run by a lovely lady, and maybe that personal touch really ensures customer loyalty! I wish I could use a Dodopad this year, but I'm happy in my Midori and unfortunately they don't make one that would fit Midoris, and I don't need one for my project filofaxes!

  3. Just sayin'.......2013 was my first year with Philofaxy and all the great Filofax Facebook groups, I am more organized, more productive, happier, and oh yes, much more creative at finding ways to enable myself and others to buy more stuff!!! Seriously, thank you Steve and Ray and Anita and Laurie for all your brilliant and creative work.

  5. Can anyone give me any feedback or comments on Louis Vuitton agenda/planners. They seem to suit FC inserts and also B6 inserts.

  6. I received my 2014 inserts that I ordered and they are very nice looking. I used these particular inserts years ago. I don't know why I did not continue to use them after that time. I bought a personal size refill and a larger one that I had to trim and punch for my A5 Boston. Both of them are a Wo2P. The personal one is printed beautifully on off white paper and has lines for each day (equal space). Each page has a perforated corner on the bottom. I cannot place the weekly pages or monthly dividers in between the monthly pages because the pages are printed back to back. There is also a smaller space for Sat. and Sunday on the monthly pages, but the weekday box is large since there is no notes column. There are no designs or colors on the pages so practically the entire space is used for writing. The holidays are printed in smaller font next to the day. The larger refill is of similar quality. The left margin on the larger refill is wide. When I trimmed the paper and repunched the holes none of the new holes touch the writing space.

    3. Hi Amanda. The personal refill is the Preference Collection. The website that sells it and several other refills is www.plannerrefills.net/organizer-refills.html. Many years ago I used the same personal Preference refill in white but this website sells it in only ivory. There may be other websites that sell it in white but I don't know of any. The ivory paper is off white and feels a little thinner than the Filofax cotton cream paper. The item number for the personal refill is PR-PC-1-PD646 and costs $10.50. It has week and month pages, year plan 2015 pages, birthdays and anniversaries, etc. There are larger refills on the website that you can trim and punch to fit an A5 Filofax binder.

  7. Im still waiting for the A5 Malden I dream of. I did receive an A5 Pennybridge for my Ipad (which is awesome by the way). I need to pick up my dodo pad for 2014, I use it for tracking my wellness activities. I cannot believe 2013 is ending already. My Filofax are filled with so many memories (good and bad). It will be interesting to see what 2014 brings.

  8. Personal Malden in ochre came for Christmas! A small and compact work of art. Added lots of extra stuff, seems very adaptable and lovely to handle.

  11. I treated myself and a couple of my friends to some Christmas goodies from Cult Pens, whose discount for Philofaxy readers is still valid until the end of the year. I've had excellent service from this company. The coupon code is "FAXY2013".

  12. My festive greetings to all Philofaxers I hope that everyone had a good time and looking forward to a Happy and Peaceful New Year. I have a question has anyone any experience with the Draper Expert Revolving Hole Punch 2.0 to 4.0mm. Does the lower jaw, one of the lower centrals sorry dental nomenclature, have a hole (cavity) into which the upper then punches a hole into the paper. The Silverline Punch has an upstand which is unsuitable for punching holes in paper.
